CONCERN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND NATURE IS BORN IN A FAMILY

ISCA was born from the environmental concern of a family in the municipality of Ijuí, a city located in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul. As a teenager, Agenor Mafra-Neto was bothered by the reports he heard about the toxicity of traditional insecticides used in the region.

It was necessary, he thought, to find a way to protect crops without causing harm to human health and the environment. His parents already had a long history of defending nature.

Plastic artist, his mother Inge, took this concern to her canvases, which showed the exuberance of shapes and colors of the plant world. His father, Ben-Hur, was engaged in the environmental struggle as a lawyer and social activist.

When Agenor, already researching semiochemicals in the United States, proposed creating the new company, his parents enthusiastically approved. It was the chance, they evaluated, to contribute decisively to sustainable agriculture.

In a short time ISCA started offering producers, through biocommunication, clean, effective and financially viable solutions against agricultural pests. It is science in defense of crops and the environment.
